JAMMU, Sept 20: An urgent meeting of All Teacher’s Association was held here today under the chair of its State president Mrignayani Slathia for discussing the fate of the Masters who have done B Ed through correspondence mode.
Making reference of the Education Minister’s announcement for registering 20,000 Graduate teachers for B Ed through distance mode from IGNOU, the Association sought to know the fate of those, who have already done B Ed through correspondence.
“The Government has failed to adjust the Masters, promoted vide order no.DSEJ/NG/M/ Prom/7255-68 dated 11-02-2014 for the last three and half years but on the other hand, fresh candidates are being registered for B Ed through IGNOU,” Mrignayani said and strongly condemned the dual policy of State Government.
She further alleged that in order to give undue benefit to the fake degree holders, Masters holding genuine degrees through correspondence mode from UGC recognized universities were being unnecessarily harassed by denying them adjustment despite the fact that they were promoted way back in 2014 whereas order no 66 Edu of 2017 was not applicable on the list of 2014
“No doubt teaching community believes in peace and hardwork but the present scenario has compelled us to boycott the class work and a continuous protest till the adjustment of 572 teachers as no other option is left for us as we are depressed by making pleas again and again for the last three and half years,” she further said.
The meeting was attended by Dewan Singh, Sanjeev Singh, Gopal Singh, Mohd Akbar, Upasana Singh, Ritu, Trishla Kanchan and others.
