REASI, Nov 15: For taking stock of the security review ahead of forthcoming Panchayat elections, Additional SP Reasi, Shiv Kumar Chouhan today conducted an extensive tour of Pouni area and held a meeting with VDC members of the adjoining villages.
The meeting was held under the supervision of SSP Reasi Nisha Nathyal and also attended by Inspr Tariq Bhat, SHO Pouni.
The participating VDC members were briefed about alertness for the forthcoming Panchayat election 2018 and were directed to remain extra vigilant in these days besides keeping track of activities to thwart nefarious designs of the anti-social elements.
After the briefing session, grievances of VDC members were also listened and they were assured that redressal would be done on priority basis.
These VDC members were called with their arms and ammunition issued to them by the District Police, which was also verified and thoroughly checked by the technical team of police personnel from DPL Reasi.
More than 85 VDC members participated in the meeting, which was held in the Police Station Pouni. ASP Reasi briefed the VDC members as well as Police personnel of P/S Pouni and lauded their efforts for discharging their duties with devotion and dedication.
It is to mention that all the VDC members are being activated in their areas of jurisdiction for the forthcoming Panchayat elections by the territorial officers of District Police Reasi, under the directions of SSP Nisha Nathyal.
