JAMMU, Apr 2: Former Minister and MLA Kargil Qamar Ali Akhoon today corrected Minister of PWD Abdul Majid Wani when later was replying to his Calling Attention Motion on blockade of Zojila pass due to heavy snow fall.
The Minister in his reply said that construction of tunnels, namely Zojilla Tunnel 12 kms and Z- Morh tunnel 6.5 are in pipe line, which will provide weather connectivity to Ladakh region.
However the MLA while correcting the Minister said the reply given by him is very old. He said for the information of the House Zojeela has been linked and it is only to be opened for traffic.
He said for 13 kilometre another tunnel tenders be made and concerned agencies be asked to start the work. Wani later said what I had to say was told by Member who is a former Minister.
Later Ashwani Sharma of JSM protested in the House saying that his resolution on weeding out corruption from the state was put on last. He said this shows the non seriousness of the Government towards weeding out corruption from public life.
He said earlier M Y Tarigami’s resolution on the same issue was also listed in last and that was not taken up in the House due to paucity of time.
However Speaker Mubarak Gul said that the resolutions are listed as per ballot system and it is the members luck whose resolution comes first and whose last. The Speaker said there is a set procedure for listing the business in the House.
