Speaking on the occasion, Anuj Kathuria, President, Global Trucks, Ashok Leyland Limited said, “Ashok Leyland is a company which is transforming the commercial vehicle industry with latest offering in products and built-in technologies. To support this transformation we also need an equally well-equipped and easily available eco-system of after-sales and support. This new dealership in Jammu is a step in that direction. Being the market leaders in this state, with over 58 per cent market share in the October-December quarter, we felt a growing need to add more muscle to our presence. Our vehicles are already quite popular in this rough and tough region. With Pal Sales and Service on board, and with their group’s strength in providing swift and prompt service across the northern states, they will not only help support our existing customers but will also gain trust of our prospective customers”.
“Commercial vehicles’ demand in the region is majorly driven by the cement industry, flour mills, market load, stone crushers and fruits transportation. Ashok Leyland models which are expected to do well include 1616 IL, 3118 IL Super, 1618 Tipper and U2518 Tipper”, Kathuria informed.
Strategically located on NH-1A, this 8-bay outlet is the 9th touch point in the state and 42nd in Chandigarh region. Equipped with computerized wheel alignment machine and other latest in technology, this outlet will provide support to the haulage, passenger and tipper customers of Jammu, Poonch, Rajouri, Udhampur, Reasi, Doda, Ramban, Banihal, Kishtwar and Bari Brahmana areas. It will also serve the vehicles on the Pathankot-Srinagar route, he stated.
