Inter Collegiate Badminton Tournament

JAMMU, Sept 19: ASCOMS will take on PG Department in the finals of the Inter-Collegiate Badminton Tournament, being organised by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu, here. In the 1st semifinal, ASCOMS beat GCW Parade by (2-0). In Singles, Akansha Sharma beat Aarya Sharma (21-10,21-11) and in Doubles, Aarushi Jain and Ritvika Sharma drubbed Roshi Jamwal and Sakshi Jamwal by (21-8,21-10).
In 2nd semifinal, PG Department defeated GCW, Gandhi Nagar by (2-0). In Singles, Meetali Manhas defeated Vishaka Rajput (21-15, 21-19) and in Doubles, Meetali Manhas and Deepika Gupta trounced Vishakha Rajput and Raaghvi Wazir (21-16, 24-22).
Earlier, in the quarterfinals, GCW Gandhi Nagar beat GCW Udhampur by (2-0), PG Department beat GDC Akhnoor by (2-0), GCW Parade trounced GGM Science College by (2-1) and ASCOMS beat YCET by (2-0).
Dr Daud Iqbal Baba, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu witnessed the matches and appreciated the players for showing sportsman spirit.
