REASI, Oct 29: Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Reasi Rajesh Gupta during day long drive against traffic violations in Katra and adjoining area, penalized 100 vehicles plying on various routes for various traffic violations and collected the fine of Rs 25000 from traffic violators.
During this day long drive, ARTO was accompanied by District Traffic Inspector Vikas Dogra, SP Katra Kulbir Singh, SHO Katra Ajay Bhatt and MVD Inspector-Vikas Shrivats. About 20 vehicles were also seized for violating traffic laws during the drive.
ARTO on this occasion also informed the people about their duties while traveling and said that it was also the prime duty of the common citizen to raise his voice against the overloading and use of mobile phones by the drivers at the time of driving. He also issued stern warning to the drivers of passenger vehicle and urged them to strictly adhere to the traffic rules to avoid any action from the department. He advised the transporters to appoint the drivers for their vehicles after his proper verification.
