Army’s Jourian Premier League concludes

JOURIAN, Jan 27: In order to provide a platform to youth of the villages of Jourian, Khour, Akhnoor, Manchak, Bakore, Chak, Devipur and Maniwala, Army’s Crossed Swords Division organised a Cricket Tournament ‘Jourian Premier League’ under Sadbhavana project from January 15, which concluded here today.
Twelve teams from general area Rakhmuthi participated in the event and the participating teams included Jourian, Khour, Akhnoor, Manchak, Bakore, Chak, Devipur and Maniwala.
The tournament witnessed keenly fought matches between the teams.
The final match of the tournament was played between Youth Cricket Club, Jourian and Friends Cricket Club, Akhnoor. Youth Cricket Club, Jourian won the match in a close contest by 6 runs.
All the players of winning teams and runners-up team were presented with trophies and medals.
Madan Lal, President Municipal Corporation, Jourian, Jagdish Kumar, SHO Khour, Mr Vijay, Corporator Jourian and Sarpanch witnessed the final match. Locals who attended the finals appreciated Army’s initiative to infuse the spirit of ‘Khelo India’ amongst the youth of Rakhmuthi.
The locals also conveyed their gratitude for conducting the tournament and creating sports awareness among the youth.
