Army Public School Nagrota celebrates Annual Sports Day

JAMMU, Nov 5: Army Public School (APS) Nagrota celebrated Annual Sports Day with zeal, fervour and sportsmanship.
Chairman Brigadier AS Berar graced the occasion along with Colonel AK Mohanty and the Principal Ruchi Bahl.
In her welcome address, Principal Ruchi Bahl epitomized the importance of sports to keep a good, healthy and disciplined life.
The day started with the Chairman observing the march-past students with his inexplicably gait and confident strides. The spectacular performance of the students in the March past with their synchronized swing of arms, sound of thudding feet and toes pointing upwards with the drumbeat, was a feast to the eyes and ears.
The fest was full of fun, frolic, excitement and energy. All the awe inspiring events starting from Torch Bearing by the Sports Captain along with other house captains, administering of oath to play and participate with true sportsmanship spirit, melodious welcome song and top of all the pleasant weather mesmerized the audience.
The students participated enthusiastically in all the events like three-legged race, slow cycling race, banana race, 400 meters race, 200 meters race, 100 meters race and relay races. The cultural bonanza in form of classical fusion dance, bhartiyam dance and rhythmic drill were greatly applauded.
The chief guest Brigadier AS Berar felicitated the winners with medals and trophies.
In his speech, Chairman reiterated the necessity of sportsmanship in this competitive world and appreciated the endeavours of the school in putting up such an event.
The day ended with the vote of thanks by the Vice Principal Avinash Mahajan.
