Army pays tributes to soldier

SRINAGAR, June 2: Army today paid befitting tributes to Late Sep Raman Kumar who made the supreme sacrifice fighting nature’s fury in Kashmir’s frontier sector of Uri in Baramulla district on Friday.
An Army spokesman said that in a solemn ceremony at Badami Bagh Cantt, Lt Gen AK Bhatt, Chinar Corps Commander and all ranks paid homage to the martyr on behalf of a proud nation.
He said Late Sep Raman Kumar was part of an operational team which was serving in the formidable heights along the Line of Control in Uri and got swept away due to a landslide during patrolling.
“The rescue teams, through their concerted efforts, evacuated him to Rampur where he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries. The martyr, Sep Raman Kumar, was 23 years old and had joined the Army in 2014. He belonged to village Depur of Mukerian tehsil in Hoshiyarpur district of Punjab and is survived by his parents,” he said.
