SRINAGAR, May 15: A District Level Wushu Championship was organized at Army Goodwill School, Ziran by the Army in association with District Wushu Association, Baramulla in which more than 250 youth from various school, clubs and academies participated.
An Army spokesman said that the championship was organized with an aim to nurture human intelligence, develop physical and mental discipline and to improve self esteem, self control, mental agility and mental concentration of school students of Tangmarg region.
He said the international bronze medalist Mrs Jabeena Akhtar graced the event along with President Wushu Association, Baramulla and Principals of various schools of Tangmarg region.
“Demonstration of Wushu and self defense techniques was also carried out and was well appreciated by the spectators especially girl students and participants. The participants, teachers & District Wushu Association, Baramulla expressed their gratitude to Army for organizing this event,” he said.
