Army organizes Junior Football League

Srinagar, June 11: To give a boost to the sporting talent and provide a platform to the young football enthusiasts of the Valley, Army organized Junior Football League at Qasbalar from May 27 to June 10, 2018 in which 16 teams took part.
An Army spokesman said that the much awaited final match of the League was played here yesterday at the picturesque Lar Football Ground in which Dangerpura Strikers were crowned the champions after winning the penalty shootout of the closely contested finale. The winners and the runners up as well as the officials were presented with trophies, medals and cash prizes. The prize distribution ceremony was followed by breaking of the fast, offering of prayers and dinner.
He said the tournament generated a lot of interest amongst the locals and all the matches were witnessed by packed audiences and they appreciated the efforts of the Army for providing such a platform to the young players to showcase their talent.
