Army organizes Football Training Prog for youth

AWANTIPORA, July 20: In its efforts to connect and strengthen bond with the local youth, search & groom talent and to channelize energy of youth in right direction, 42 Battalion of Rashtriya Rifles organized a week long  Football Training Capsule for 48 youths of Awantipora and Tral region in Hajahad Public School & Rajpora Camp Football Ground, here.
42 Battalion of Rashtriya Rifles provided coach for imparting football training including classes on rules, regulation and referring.
The trainer had chalked out programme based on present skill level of players and focused on passing, dribbling, free kicks, lob and goal keeping.
An exhibition match was played today after culmination of training capsule between Awantipora and Tral teams in which Awantipora won by a solitary goal.
During the match both the teams played a spectacular game and displayed true sportsman spirit.
A cash award of Rs 5,000 and a trophy was presented to the winning tea, while a cash prize of Rs 3,000 was presented to the runners-up team. Apart from this football kit, other cash rewards and medals were presented to the players and officials on the occasion.
