Army organizes Cricket Tournament at Khour

JAMMU, Feb 6: In the Army’s efforts to contribute towards the development of the society at large, “Crossed Swords Division” organized an Inter Village Cricket tournament to promote sports in the youth of border area villages.
The Cricket Tournament was conducted on the basis of T-20 format at Budhwal Cricket Ground and a total of six teams from villages of Channi Dewanun, Chak Malal-Rakh Malal, Khunda-Dhar Khour, Budhwal, Rajwal-Chak Bhagwana and Dhanwal participated. A week long tournament was an opportunity for the youth of the area to display their sporting skills and boost their self confidence as well as for the Army to interact and associate with the youth of border village areas.
The final match was played between Bhudwal and Dhanwal in which the team from village Dhanwal won by 80 runs. Shashi of Dhanwal team was adjudged man of the match and Raka of Dhanwal team was declared as  man of the series for his all-round performance.
The winners and the runners-up teams were presented with prizes and trophies on the occasion.
