Army organizes bike rally

Srinagar, Mar 13: Army flagged off a motorcycle rally comprising 20 volunteer youth in Budgam district today.
An Army spokesman said the rally was organized to give an impetus to peace and normalcy in the district and at the same time address the key issues of development of the society as a whole for integration into National mainstream.
He said the bikers traversed over a distance of 150 Kms in the district, spreading the message of Peace and Harmony and the rally endeavored to promote women empowerment during the International Women Week, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao programme of the Central Govt, cleanliness drive under Swachh Bharat programme and most importantly awareness against menaces of drug addiction.
“The bikers also presented stationary items to the students at Beerwah, Arzal, Bugur and Chadoora to promote education and motivated young minds to focus on their education. Various other items including sports kits, Disability aids to handicap individuals, and solar lanterns for poor and needy were also distributed as part of the rally,” he said.
