Rajouri, May 4: Training for the local unemployed widows and other women, organised by the Army at Women Empowerment Centre (WEC), Taragain, tehsil Kotranka was culminated in a glittering ceremony today.
The Army Battalion, based at Samote, imparted the training to the ladies at Women Empowerment Centre from March 1 under the aegis of Headquarters Sector, Mahore. The aim of the training was to extend the opportunity to the women to earn their livelihood by learning embroidery, tailoring, knitting etc. 18 Women of Samote and Budhal area got benefited from it.
While addressing the ladies at Women Empowerment Centre, the Commanding Officer of the Battalion complimented them for showing enthusiasm for availing this opportunity and asked them to make full use of it. He also assured the villagers that the best possible training would be imparted to them on various vocational training and urged to enhance their skills so that they are able to earn a livelihood for themselves.
