Army organises Naushera T-20 Cricket Tournament

JAMMU, Jan 28: Naushera T-20 Cricket Tournament 2018 was organized by the Army with the aim to identify talent and provide platform to the youth of the remote border areas to hone their skills. Enthusiastic teams of Naushera, Rumlidhara, Jhangar, Kalal, Lam and Kalsiyan villages participated in the tournament.
The Tournament for this year was conducted by Rumlidhara Battalion from January 18, 2018 at Naushera.
All the teams were well equipped with the sporting spirit and technical expertise to pose a challenge to lift the trophy. All teams displayed professional cricket which captivated the spectators of all age groups and was highly appreciated.
During the tournament, semifinals were played between Naushera amd Rumlidhara Royals and Kalsiyan Knight Riders and Lam Warriors. Royals and Kalsiyan Knight Riders reached the finals. Rumlidhara Royals won Naoshera T- 20 Cricket Tournament 2018 by 9 wickets.
Seniors Army Officers, Ravinder Raina, MLA, Surender Chaudhary, MLC and other officials along with locals and school children were present to witness the high intensity match between the two finalist teams. Naoshera T-20 Cricket Tournament trophy was presented to the Rumlidhara Royals Team Captain Darvinder Kumar alongwith cash award of Rs 10,000 and runners-up trophy to Kalsiyan Knight Riders Team Captain Ashok Kumar along with a cash award of Rs 5000 and medals to all the players of teams.
