Army organises educational tour for girl students of Drass

UDHAMPUR, Aug 1: A fifteen days educational cum motivational tour was flagged off for the girl students of Drass region, today. The tour comprises of 20 girls students in the age group between 11 and 15 and 4 teachers. Necessary administrative backup is being provided by the Army for complete duration.
During the tour the girls will be taken to Srinagar, Jammu, Amritsar, Delhi, Jaipur, Ajmer, Agra, Fatehpur Sikri, and Ambala. The tour would give girl students a wider exposure to other states of India and educate them about the rich historical, religious, cultural and natural heritage of our country as also expose them to its scientific and technological progress. The tour aims to instill in them a spirit of patriotism and further integrate them into the national mainstream. In addition to sightseeing, the tour will motivate the children to excel in their studies, so as to avail better avenues and opportunities both inside and outside J&K.
Indian Army has been undertaking various goodwill activities under Project ‘Operation Sadbhavana’ to uplift the living standards of the people of remote areas and to “Win the Hearts and Minds” of local population by its relentless pursuit to bring peace and tranquility in the state of J&K.
The flagging in ceremony of tour will be conducted on August 15 at Kargil.
