REASI, May 15: An Army jawan committed suicide by shooting himself with his service weapon at Uniform Force Headquarters here, late last night.
The deceased was identified as 32 years old Ashok Kumar, son of N Ramachandran, a resident of Thulithalai village B Manihutty Khulda, Nilgiris district, Tamil Nadu.
He shot himself with his service rifle and reportedly died on the spot.
Meanwhile, an FIR has been registered in this connection at Reasi Police Station and an investigation has been launched into the matter.
