JAMMU, Apr 20: The dead body of an Army Jawan was today found dead under mysterious circumstances in a hotel falling under the limits of police station Nowabad.
According to a police spokesman, the deceased Jawan was identified as Sanjay Parsad (26) son of Rashish Parsad, a resident of Chhiathar, Nowada in Bihar. He was presently posted at a unit in Akhnoor and had come here to attend his duties after spending his vacation (which ended on April 12) at his home.
He said that the Jawan was living in Hotel Shiva near Gummat for past two days. As since yesterday, he had not opened his room, hotel staff informed the police, which broke opened the door and found the naked dead body of the Jawan in the bathroom. He said that many pouches of country made liquor were spread in the room.
The spokesman said that after completing all medico legal formalities, the body of the deceased Jawan was handed over to Army authorities while a case under relevant sections were registered at police station Nowabad.
