SRINAGAR, Jan 11: Army last night helped in averting a major fire tragedy and prevented major damage to property and loss of life in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
An Army Spokesman said that a major fire broke out on Wednesday night from a three storied house of one, Abdul Aziz Malik in Jamia Mohalla adjacent to the Boniyar Market in Baramulla.
He said after receiving information about the fire, four water bowers were immediately pressed into service to control the spread of fire till the fire brigade and other fire fighting parties arrived from Baramulla and Uri.
“The Army worked hand in hand with the civil population gathered at the site and averted a major fire tragedy in the town,” he added.
