Army felicitates budding cyclist

SRINAGAR, Mar 16: Army today presented a Merida Reacto (limited edition) cycle costing 2.5 lakhs to a budding cyclist from Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
An Army spokesman said that Mansoor Ahmed Sheer Gojree, a 22 year old young man from Budgam who has won numerous laurels at State and National level including a bronze in 21st National Cycling Championship in 2016 was presented a cycle which costs about 2.5 Lakhs.
“He belongs to an underprivileged section of society, however, his grit and passion for the sport enabled him to reach the National level. He is a youth icon and role model for thousands of other Kashmiri boys and has shown what can be achieved with focused approach and strong determination,” he said, adding, “This small gesture of Army will assist in further strengthening the bond between Army and Awaam.”
