Army facilitates in conduct of job interviews for Valley youth

Srinagar, Feb 23: Army today said that in order to provide job opportunities to the educated youths it collaborated with the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) for job interviews under project ‘Udaan’ at Awantipora in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
“A huge turnout of youths from Pulwama, Budgam, Anantnag, Shopian, Ganderbal and Kulgam districts gathered to avail this opportunity,” a defence spokesman said, adding that telephonic interviews of approximately 70 graduates were conducted by the representatives of TCS for which the administrative support was provided by the Army.
He said the candidates selected will undergo training at Kolkata and then be provided employment in various sectors ranging from IT, Software technology, marketing, etc through TCS. “Candidates will be paid stipend of Rs. 15000 every month for the first year on successful selection as TCS employee,” he added.
The spokesman said TCS Udaan interviews were facilitated by the Army at different locations in the recent past in Kashmir Valley in which a large number of talented men and women were selected and are presently undergoing training at Kolkata.
“On interacting with the youth about this project, the youths appreciated the efforts of the Indian Army and appealed to continue the good work with such projects in future too,” the defence spokesman added.
