POONCH, Sept 19: Army conducted Kho-Kho Tournament for girls at Harni, in which two teams participated.
The purpose for organising such event was to encourage the local students to take up sports as a career and to display their potential in sports. Participation of girls was being encouraged with an overall aim of empowering them.
The event was organised as part of the Sadbhavana initiative by the Army.
While speaking, Sarpanch of Harni village said that such measures bring the locals closer to the Army and helps in nurturing talent.
The event was attended by the teaching staff, school children, parents and eminent locals of the nearby villages.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks from the Sarpanch of Harni.
