UDHAMPUR (J&K): On the occasion of 17th Kargil Vijay Diwas, Lt Gen DS Hooda, Army Commander, Northern Command paid homage to the martyrs of OP VIJAY at the historic War Memorial at Drass today. He was accompanied by GOC Fire and Fury Corps. The Army Commander also interacted with the Veer Naaris, awardees and relatives of martyrs during the event. Speaking on the occasion, the Army Commander paid glowing tributes to the sacrifices and expressed his gratitude to the martyrs, their NOK and Veer Naris. The Army Commander later interacted with the media.
A solemn memorial service which included prayers by religious teachers and lighting of lamps was organised at the War memorial yesterday evening.
