RAJOURI, July 25: Army and Civil administration today flagged off annual Kounsar Naag Yatra.
In the yatra, 500 devotees including 245 male, 135 female and 120 children are taking part.
The yatra will take the route of Chasana, Sanglikot, Sarsot, Harsoo, Kaunsar Gali to Kounsar Naag lake.
Samote Army was given the responsibility of security of the entire yatra. The unit deployed a total 60 Army personnel for the smooth conduct of yatra. Besides Army personnel, 50 policemen were also involved in the security of the yatra which will return on July 28.
Earlier, medical team led by Army and civilian doctors carried out medical checkup of yatries and gave preventive medicines and necessary advice to the devotees. Samote Army also distributed packed lunch to all the yatries.
