Arms haul in Mendhar

JAMMU, July 5: Army today busted a hideout of the militants and recovered consignment of arms, ammunition and explosives from Beri Rakh forests in Mendhar tehsil of Poonch district.
On a specific information, the troops conducted search operation in Beri Rakh forests. The hideout was detected late this evening. Large quantity of arms, ammunition and explosives were recovered from the hideout.
After making recoveries, security forces conducted searches in the area. However, no arrests were made from the spot.
Recoveries included two AK-56 rifles with 26 magazines and 793 rounds, three pistols with two magazines and 63 rounds, 46 Pika ammunition and one magazine, 11 tiffin IEDs, 20 detonators, three RPC rounds, four Chinese hand grenades, one compass, 17 Pakistani currency notes in 500 denomination and eight currency notes in 1000 denomination besides, diaries, water bottles, carry bags and other items.
