APS Dhar Road celebrates annual sports day

JAMMU, Nov 30: The school playground of Army Public School, Dhar Road was filled with great zeal, excitement and frolicsome atmosphere as the school celebrated its 10th annual sports day for classes I-IV.
The chief guest, on the occasion, was Col Ankush Sharma, 107 AD Regiment while Principals of the various schools and colleges, other dignitaries also graced the occasion.
The celebrations began with the ‘Krishana Vandana’ followed by the lighting of the sports torch, march past by all four houses— Beas, Chenab, Jhelum and Ravi. It was followed by the oath taking ceremony.
Principal, Jyoti Bedyal, presented the Annual Report sharing the credentials and achievements of the school. The students displayed a wide array of colorful and reverberant events in the form of Pom-pom drill, Bamboo drill and Fan drill. The events filled the hearts of everyone with the spirit of sportsmanship and unity. Students mesmerized the audience with their energetic performance of Aerobics and Martial Arts.
It was a fascinating view to see the class I during the Ball and Bucket race. During the Lemon and Spoon Race, the tiny tots of class-II hopped magnificently to reach the victory line. Students of class -III showcased incredible competitive spirit in form of Hurdle race. The astonishing moment was the Bhangra performance that filled all the audience with lots of excitement.
House trophy was bagged by Chenab House and Beas House as there was a tie between them. Best Sportsperson of the year were Chaitanya Sharma and Stuti. The teachers were also felicitated for their exemplary dedication and devotion with a trophy and a cash prize. Himani Khajuria (TGT English) and Ridhi Datta (PRT) were awarded as the Best teachers. Sidhatri Sharma was awarded as the Best Administration Employee. Ganesh was awarded as the Best Group-D Employee.
The event ended with National Anthem.
