APMCC demands Central Govt headed Relief Distribution Monitoring Committee

JAMMU, Sept. 16: All Parties Migrants Coordination Committee (APMCC) has strongly condemned the brutal lathicharge on Kashmiri Pandits at Srinagar on the orders of SP Srinagar (East) Harmit Singh a few days back when they were peacefully demonstrating in front of Raj Bhawan seeking food and blankets in flood hit Srinagar.
Addressing a Press Conference after his return from Srinagar APMCC Chairman Vinod Pandit along with National Spokesperson King Bharati said that Omar Abdullah Government was a total failure and Centre must impose Governors rule for effective relief and rehabilitation of flood victims of the J&K State.
The leaders said that they have no faith in the state administration and asked Central government to float a Central Government headed Relief and Rehabilitation Monitoring Committee in J&K so that the relief distribution is effective and reaches the people rather than the pockets of the corrupt people in State administration.
The leaders while denouncing the unprovoked and brutal Lathicharge on peacefully protesting flood hit Kashmiri Pandits at Srinagar on the orders of SP Srinagar East Harmit Singh demanded his immediate suspension as promised by IG Kashmir and inquiry as he not only prevented them from seeking relief material but also used un-Parliamentary language against entire Kashmiri Pandit community.
Giving details Vinod Pandit who alongwith 120 yatries of Gangbal Yatra was stuck in Srinagar for more than 10 days, said that they were thankful to Zyeshtha Devi Prabhandak Committee (ZDPC) and its president BB Bhat who organized the massive langer which was still going on with full support from APMCC, Gangbal Trust and Roots In Kashmir provided shelter, food and water to around 30,000 stranded people at the Zyeshtha Devi temple and was still there alongwith APMCC Senior Coordinator Ravinder Badam and TK Zutshi to oversee relief and rescue operation.
He demanded immediate ration supply and blankets to zyeshtha Devi temple to save the starving people who were camping there.
King Bharati, National Spokesperson APMCC said that there was urgent need of Governor’s rule in the State as people have lost faith in the State government adding the government which is justifying its absence for three days has no moral right to govern,
Advocate Arun Kandroo, Gen Secy said that local administration proved a total failure and it was only armed forces and NDRF which provided much needed rescue and relief to the flood affected people.
