JAMMU, Apr 15: The Apex Project Clearance Committee (APCC) of SIDCO in its 39th meeting held under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary, Iqbal Khandey approved various projects in medium and large-scale industrial sectors.
Financial Commissioner, Industries & Commerce, Khurshid A Ganai, Principal Secretary, PDD, Sundeep Nayak, MD SIDCO, Kifayat Rizvi and other senior officers were present in the meeting.
The Apex Committee cleared various proposals received by SIDCO including upgradation of certain Small Scale Industrial (SSI) units to medium and large-scale category, proposals of registration of new industrial units at Industrial Complex Bari- Brahmana, Jammu and Industrial Growth Centre, Lassipora, Pulwama.
While reviewing the status of various industrial centers in the State, Chief Secretary said necessary infrastructure needs to be raised in all industrial estates alongwith requisite facilities, so that prospective entrepreneurs /investors are encouraged to establish small, medium and large industrial units in other areas also rather than concentrating at one place only.
The Apex body also decided that it would be holding regular meetings to further fast-track the project clearance process.
