AoL celebrates 61st birthday of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar

JAMMU, May 13: 61st birthday of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, a renowned spiritual Guru and the founder of International Art of Living Foundation, was celebrated with gaiety and fervour in Jammu.
The Art of Living (AoL)- Jammu organised several programmes, in tune with the organization’s ideology of Sadhna, Seva and Satsang, to commemorate the occasion.  A mesmerizing concert of divine music was organised this evening at Teachers Bhawan, GHSS, Gandhi Nagar, jammu which was attended by a very large number of people from all walks of life.
Besides, a Guru pooja, meditation session, it included a splendid performance by Sahil Jagtyani, a renowned international singer, who kept the gathering enchanted with his rendition of blissful bhajans. The devotees were exhilarated experiencing divine energy generated in the blissful evening, briefed by State coordinator-media and DDC, AoL, J&K, Ajay Kapoor.
Earlier, the candle lighting ceremony was done by chief guest, Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh, who was accompanied by Vikram Gujral, Member, North Apex, Shantmanu, Chief Electoral officer J&K, Sangeeta, Commissioner, Income Tax, J&K, Savinder Gupta (STC) and all DDC members of J&K from AoL Chapter.
Meanwhile, Sudershan Kriya- a rthymic breathing exercise evolved by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, was organized at all happiness centres of AOL in the Jammu city, Kathua, Udhampur and Bani. AoL Jammu chapter also organized a blood donation camp and a medical camp jointly with Red Cross Jammu at Red Cross Sarai, Mahesh Pura Chowk, Jammu. The camps were inaugurated by Divisional Commissioner, M K Bhandari and CEO, Shantamanu.
The family of Art of Living also put up chabeels and organized langars at Indira Chowk and Sector 1, Shiv Mandir, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu. AoL Jammu Chapter organizers also visited SOS Home, Old Age Home and blind school  and distributed food and sweets to the inmates.
Similar events were also organized at Kathua, Bani and Udhampur to mark the birth celebrations of the revered Guru.
