SAMBA, Oct 4: Association of Industries (AoI) Samba, has demanded early issuance of package of incentives under GST regime for the survival of industrial sector.
An executive committee meeting of the members of Association of Industries Samba was held under the presidentship of Vijay Aggarwal in presence of Raman Jolly, vice president, Retash Mahajan general secretary and Rohit Saroha, treasurer and members of AoI Samba.
During the course of discussion, the members present showed their serious concern in respect of non-issuance of Notifications by the State/Central Govt for the extension of package of incentives under GST regime due to which uncertainty is prevailing in the minds of Industrial units holders in J&K.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Central Govt has failed to issue the notifications as approved by the Union Cabinet on August 16, 2017 with in a time frame of six weeks which expired on September 30, 2017. In spite of repeated assurances given by Dr Haseeb Drabu, Finance Minister; Chander Parkash, Industries & Commerce Minister along with other officers in which they promised for issuance of notifications within ten days but now the matter has been postponed with the excuse of awaiting of Central Government Notifications which we term as delaying tactics adopted by State Government, resulting total chaos amongst the Industrial units working in our State as the funds have been blocked by way of depositing the GST and we fear that any further delay in the issuance of Notifications by State/Central Government will be a blow on the Industrial sector of our State which will be resulting in to mass scale retrenchment of Industrial workers and thousands of accounts may be converted in to NPA and the Central/State Government shall be held responsible for the Same.
It was resolved in the meeting that if the Government Notifications are not issued within a week the Unit holders have no option but to close down their units and stop the payment of all the Government dues and start the agitation.
