Another joke with Pandits

Government exudes unending sadism against the internally displaced Pandits from the Valley. They are now running into 28th year of their extirpation from their homes and hearths, and neither the Central nor the State Government has time or expertise to frame any policy of their return and rehabilitation in the Valley of Kashmir to which they actually belong. That the people in Kashmir valley do not want them back was known when in the aftermath of late Mufti Sayeed and Prime Minister Modi announced after their meeting in Delhi that the Pandit IDPs would be concentrated in the Valley, all the hell broke out in the valley and complete strike against this decision was observed so much so that till date, which is a period of three years, nobody at the Centre or the State said a word about the rehabilitation of the IDPs from Kashmir,
In this scenario if the construction of 561 flats at Vissu in Kashmir to serve as transit camp accommodation for the returning Pandits is abandoned half way and neglected and forgotten, it is not something surprising. Authorities say they have no money to restart work on these flats and bring them to completion. This all speaks volumes that the IDPs are nowhere in the rating of the Government for priority works. In State political chemistry, the Pandit is the “other” being no party’s vote bank, and being the wretched Indian spy in the words of the great Kashmiri leader in  his biography Atesh-i-Chinar.
What does the far-fetched idea of constructing transit camps mean? Why transit camps and why not a compact, one-place residential colony in the valley under a master plan drawn by any reputed town planning corporate. That is what return and rehabilitation with honour and dignity means.  The IDPs are governed by the rules and regulations of the UN Human Rights Charter, the same Human Rights agency to which Kashmiri separatists approach via Pakistani NGOs with their complaints against Indian presence in Kashmir.  How dearly it cost the separatists’ movement to throw out the helpless Pandits from Kashmir valley should be understood by those who are running separatism movement in the valley.
