Anil Sharma’s death widely mourned

JAMMU, Jan 9: On the sad demise of Anil Sharma, Special Correspondent of Daily Excelsior, condolence messages continued to pour in from various organizations and individuals.
Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh, in his condolence message, expressed grief and shock over the death of Anil Sharma, with whom he shared 30 years of association as regular columnist of the Daily Excelsior.
Dr Jitendra Singh recalled his long association with Anil Sharma when both of them used to sit together and discuss wide range of public issues and polity. He conveyed his sympathies with the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss and also prayed for peace to the departed soul.
Several Congress leaders have also expressed profound grief and sorrow over the sad demise of senior journalist Anil Sharma.  In a condolence message, the senior Congress leaders, including PCC Senior vice president Sham Lal Sharma, CLP Leader N. Rigzin Jora, Vice-president Raman Bhalla, and Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma, Co-Treasurer Rajnish Sharma, general secretaries Manjeet Singh, Vikram Malhotra, S.S. Channi and DCC president Jammu (U) Anil Chopra, recalled the valuable services rendered by Anil Sharma in the field of journalism because of his dedication, devotion and hard work.
They conveyed heartfelt condolences to the family members, friends and colleagues and prayed for peace to the departed soul.
Former minister and senior Congress leader, Abdul Majid Wani also expressed his shock over the death of Anil Sharma and has expressed deep sympathy with the bereaved family.  He also prayed the Almighty for peace to the departed soul.
Jammu Kashmir Medical Employees   Federation held a condolence meeting under the chairmanship of president Sushil Sudan and expressed grief over the death of Anil Sharma, The meet observed a two-minute silence for peace to the departed soul and prayed the God for giving courage to the bereaved family for  bearing this irreparable loss.  The meeting was attended by Jarnail Choudhary, Vinod Sharma and others.
Jammu and Kashmir Union of Working Journalist (JKUWJ) also held a condolence meeting and expressed grief over the death of Anil Sharma besides praying for peace to the departed soul.  President of JKUWJ, Udhay Chand recalled his old association with Anil Sharma since four decades and said that besides a loss to the entire journalistic fraternity, it was a personal loss to him.  The meeting was attended by Ravi Khajuria, Shashi Kant, Rehmat-ullah Rouniyal   and others.
A condolence meeting was held at Sahyog India Complex at R S Pura where rich tributes were paid to Anil Sharma for his contribution to the field of journalism. The meet prayed Almighty for peace to the departed soul and courage to the bereaved family. The meeting was attended by Dr D R Kapoor, Ashwani Jojra, Rajkumar Sharma, G R Bhagat, Th Kashmir Singh, S C Gupta and others.
