SRINAGAR, Dec 13: Anganwadi workers and helpers from various districts protested here and demanded release of their pending salaries.
Scores of Anganwadi workers and helpers, under the banner of J&K Anganwadi Workers and Helpers Association Kashmir, assembled at Pratap Park and raised slogans in favor of their demands.

The protestors were demanding the release of their pending salaries and winter vacation. “It has been eight-nine months and we have not received even a penny from the Government, there are many widowed female workers who are the only support of their families but still the Government is paying no heed to our demands”, Tasleema Subhan, President of the Association said.
The protesting Anganwadi workers and helpers alleged that the coordinator of the Ayush Scheme is mistreating the workers during the survey. “The coordinator is not treating the workers with respect and force them to work till late hours,” she said.
She said they will lock down all the centers if their demands are not fulfilled.
