Andhra Pradesh Club, Islamia CC emerge victorious

DODA, June 6: Andhra Pradesh Cricket Club and Islamia Cricket Club Banihal defeated their rivals convincingly in the ongoing All India 10th Gufran Memorial T20 Cricket Championship 2014, being held at Sports Stadium, here today.
The tournament is being organized by Young Star Cricket Club (YSCC) Doda and sponsored by J&K Bank, Bajaj Allianz and Rashtriya Rifles Rajput Unit Doda.
In the first match of the day, Andhra Pradesh Cricket Club outplayed Mysore Cricket Club Bangalore by 3 wickets. Batting first after winning the toss, Mysore Cricket Club Bangalore made 144 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Muzamil scored 34 runs, while Mahesh contributed 17 runs. For Andhra Pradesh Cricket Club, Lovraj and Vijay sclaped 2 and 1 wicket respecticvely.
In reply, Andhra Pradesh Cricket Club chased the target in 18 overs by losing of 7 wickets, thus won the match by 3 wickets. Uma scored 26 runs, while Parveen contributed 23 runs to the total. For Mysore Cricket Club Bangalore, Abuzar and Nassir bagged 3 and 1 wicket respectively.
Uma was declared as man of the match for his All-round performance.
In another match, Islamia Cricket Club Banihal defeated Bhalessa Cricket Club by 6 wickets. Batting first, Bhalessa Cricket Club scored a modest total of 119 runs by losing 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Amir scored 33 runs, while Arif added 36 runs. For Islamia Cricket Club Banihal, Rafiq Baba and Shakeel took 3 and 2 wickets respectively.
In reply, Islamia Cricket Club Bhanihal chased the target in just 13.3 overs by losing 4 wickets, thus won the match by 6 wickets. Mukhtiar was the top scorer with 44 runs, while Sajid Ali contributed 33 runs. For Bhalessa Cricket Club, Mubashir and Arif took 2 and 1 wicket respectively.
Rafiq Baba was declared as man of the match for all-round performance.
The man of the match award was presented to the winner by Dr Tariq Masood, District Immunization Officer, Doda.
The match was officiated by Darmesh Bhardwaj and Sanjay Singh as umpires, while Waseem Raja acted as the scorer.
