Ample supply, profit-booking hurt chana futures, shed 2.36%

NEW DELHI, Oct 6:  Amid ample supplies in the spot market and profit-booking by speculators, chana prices were down 2.36 per cent to Rs 5,092 per quintal in futures trading today.
In futures trading at the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in October fell sharply by Rs 123, or 2.36 per cent, to Rs 5,092 per quintal with an open interest of 2,280 lots.
Also, the commodity for delivery in November contracts moved down Rs 86, or 1.63 per cent, to Rs 5,188 per quintal in 72,430 lots.
Analysts said apart from profit-booking by speculators, higher supplies from growing belts at the physical market kept pressure on chana prices in futures trade. (PTI)
