Amit checks land records during tour of 4 Sub-Divisions

UDHAMPUR, Nov 9: Amit Sharma, Regional Director, Survey & Land Records, Udhampur/ Reasi (ex-officio Settlement Officer) concluded a two-day extensive touring of Chenani, Dudu, Basantgarh and Ramnagar Sub-Divisions of Udhampur district in which lot of interactions  were held and multiple issues were taken-up regarding proper maintenance of revenue records in respective jurisdictions.
He was accompanied by a team of officers/officials of S&LR Regional Directorate, which  included Karnail Singh, Naib Tehsildar;  Narinder Kumar, Naib Tehsildar and Ghulam Mohd,  Patwari.
Amit Sharma took initial meeting of Chenani Sub Division led by SDM D N Sharma and other Revenue officers in which progress on writing of Jamabandis was checked and fresh targets were set for completion of same with total efficiency, which is a pre-requisite for scanning of data of these Sub-Divisions. Various challenges were also highlighted during the meeting, such as request for conducting special and exclusive settlement operation for Kud Niabat, the records of which are very old and vast. Along with, a request was also made for provision of Revenue staff in the Sub Division and Tehsil offices, which is a major challenge pertaining to most of the new administrative unit offices of the State. Similarly, Dudu Sub-Division issues regarding staff requirement and nine months pending salary of one Girdawar Bhim Sen were also noted down by the team. RD S&LR assured that all these genuine issues shall be taken up with authorities for earliest solutions. He also directed that concerned area Patwaries will accompany scanning team for ensuring quality check/error-free scanning of revenue records of respective revenue villages.
On second day, the team  took a tour of Basantgarh Sub-Division along with SDM Atri and made a physical inspection of few Ground Control Points installed by M/s Ramtech in these remote belts for future surveys through Satellite Imageries. Later, a review of progress in writing of Jamabandis, assessment of ongoing Girdawri operations in snow-belts up to November 15 and related issues such as improvement in quality of papers, being provided for maintaining Revenue records, Partals (inspections & cross-checking by seniors) was discussed.
An extensive meeting was also held at Ramnagar Sub Division wherein Amit Sharma instructed Revenue staff for quick disposal of pending revenue court cases and finishing pendency in eviction of encroachment on State/ Kahcharai land at the earliest.
