AMEAK’s chain hunger strike enters second day

Jammu, Oct 27: The symbolic chain hunger strike of the volunteers of All Migrant Employees Association of Kashmir (AMEAK) today entered second day with six new volunteers sitting on symbolic chain hunger strike even as their dharna also entered 103rd day with more employees joining them for the agitation.
The employees today deliberated over the outcome of the 103 day old agitation and expressed satisfaction that employees were participating whole heartedly rejecting the propaganda of the anti-employee elements that agitation was losing the steam.
The employees who converged on the venue of the agitation resolved that this agitation will be their fight to finish and sought immediate resolution of their demands.
Speaking on the occasion national Spokesperson All Parties Migrants Coordination Committee (APMCC) King C Bharati, said that the community leadership was fully behind the employees and nobody will be allowed to harass them or make them scope goats.
Bharati said that the Government must see the gravity of the situation and initiate dialogue with the agitating employees to resolve their genuine grievances warning that any lacklustre approach will have serious consequences as now leadership of the community has taken up the employees cause.
He said that the symbolic chain hunger strike would soon be converted into a round the clock hunger strike and later fast unto death besides adopting some drastic steps against the political class governing the state if their demands were not taken care of.
The employees are seeking fool-proof security arrangements for them in Kashmir before their return alongwith the whole community and release of salaries in view of the festive season.
Bharati said that APMCC will launch a nationwide agitation if the Government continues to ignore the plight of the employees adding APMCC representatives were already camping in various states particularly Uttar Pradesh to garner support of various political parties for the cause during the coming Parliament session.
The volunteers who sat on the first day of chain hunger strike include Aanchal, Veena, Sukanya, Govind Vallabh, Rajkumar and Raj Raina.
Today’s symbolic hunger strike was attended by Vinod Pandit, Chairman APMCC, King C Bharati Rubon Saproo, President AMEAK, Sanjeev Koul, President Non-PM Package Employees Association. Rakesh Pandita, Kamal Pandita, Ajay Bhat, Rajinderji, Rakeshji Satish Ji, Ranjan Ji, Sunny Raina, Vinod Bhat and around hundred female and male employees.
