AMCCC delegation calls on RRC

JAMMU, July 14: A delegation of All Migrant Camp Coordination Committee (AMCCC) led by its president Desh Rattan called on Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner M L Raina and discussed the migrants’ issues with him.
The delegation also submitted a memorandum to RRC highlighting various problems of migrants and stressed that these issues need to be solved on war footing basis as the migrants are facing many hardships as the problems have piled up for a long time.
The delegation demanded holding of meetings with deputy commissioners of Valley for removing encroachments from migrant land, grant of minority status to KPs, transfer of tainted officers, enhancement of relief to Rs 25,000 per head, relaxation in recruitment rules for migrants, construction of new water supply scheme for migrants at Jagti, continuation of open darbar system, settlement of all pending issues like bifurcation, inclusion and grant of RBA status, renovation of quarters and Jagti school, one time compensation to over aged youth, settlement of the pending cases of registration etc,.
The delegation expressed the hope that the RRC will settle the issues on priority basis. It assured full cooperation to Mr Raina in streamlining the system in Relief Organisation.
M L Kant, K V, B B Gosani, Surinder Kaul, Samir Walli, Dazy Bazaz and others earlier held meeting in which the demands were discussed in detail.
Meanwhile ex Sarpanch and president Sharda Colony Sector 2 Nana Ji Raina has also expressed the hope that the new system of holding open darbar by RRC will certainly help in settling the pending problems of the migrants.
He said the Relief Commissioner who is fully abreast with the migrants’ problems will take all steps in streamlining the system to regain the faith and confidence of migrants.
