AMCCC delegation calls on Union Home Minister

JAMMU, Apr 12:  A delegation of All Migrant Camp Coordination Committee (AMCCC) comprising of its president Desh Rattan and general secretary, Manmohan Kant called on Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh at New Delhi today and highlighted the plight of displaced Pandits before him.
The delegation discussed host of issues with Home Minister which included permanent settlement and rehabilitation of Pandits in their homeland Kashmir. They said it is unfortunate that Government during last 30 years failed to take a concrete and bold decision in this regard and wanted to know that how long the minority Pandits from Valley who belonged to one of the ancient and richest civilizations of India will lead an exiled life.
The delegation also informed Mr Singh about the encroachment of private property of Pandits and their religious places in the Valley and stressed on constitution of a Board for protection of the religious places of Hindus in Kashmir as demanded by the community.
It also stressed on restoration of RBA to those migrant families which belong to RBA areas of Kashmir, political empowerment of the Community, release of balance ex-gratia and compensation for damaged orchards and other property. It also demanded that the Kashmiri Pandits be given employment in Amarnath Shrine Board and also representation in the Board, besides the community be also given benefits of healing touch policy.
