Ambedkar Jayanti celebrated

JAMMU, Apr 14: Rich tributes were paid to Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar by various political, social, trade, youth and other organizations on his 127th birth anniversary today.
Many functions were held across the State in connection with the birthday celebrations of the Father of the Indian Constitution.
Bahujan Samaj Party held a grand function at the party headquarters Satwari Jammu. It was presided over by State president of the party, S R Majotra. Many senior leaders of the party, besides provincial, district and block level functionaries participated in the programme. Majotra and other speakers including Charanjeet Chargotra, R K Thappa, Ashok Bhagat and Badri Nath described Dr Ambedkar as symbol of knowledge and champion of social justice to the Dalit Samaj. A cultural programme by students of some schools, besides devotional songs, were also presented on the occasion.
BJP National general secretary Ram Madhav, while addressing a massive gathering of the members of Scheduled Caste community on the occasion of 127th birthday of Dr Ambedkar, at party office Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, in presence of BJP State president & MLA Sat Sharma, Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh, State vice-president Yudhvir Sethi, State general secretary (Org) Ashok Kaul, SC Morcha State president  and MLA Dr Devinder Manyal, SC, ST, BC Development Corporation Vice-Chairperson Balbir Ram  and Morcha Prabhari ND Rajwal, said that the Government should implement SC, ST Atrocities Act in the State in order to safeguard the interests of the weaker sections.
Ram Madhav said that Ambedkar was a postle of social equality and welfare of all the sections of the society and worked throughout his life for the weaker sections. He emphasized that the whole society must be touched by atrocity on any other section. We must have “Samvedna”, he stressed. “The last person standing in line” is in sight of our Government following the thoughts of Dr Ambedkar and Deendayal Upadhayay as “Antodaya”. He also emphasized that the GDP of Nation must rise by improvement in the lives of downtrodden. He also prompted the youth to become job givers instead of job seekers.
Jugal Kishore Sharma Member Parliament BJP (Lok Sabha) Jammu-Poonch along with Ravinder Raina MLA  Nowshera constituency started Gram Swabhiman Yatra from Sunderbani today in Nowshera constituency. He started his Gram Swabhiman Journey “A Nationwide Programme” started by Bhartiya Janata Party to reach each and every doorstep so that every people can get benefit of Centrally sponsored schemes launched by Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi. Jugal Kishore celebrated Samrasta Divas on the eve of Babasaheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar Jayanti at Lamberi in Nowshera during his Yatra and paid tributes to Ambedkar.
Bharatiya Janata Party, Satwari Mandal celebrated the 127th birth anniversary of Dr Ambedkar  at Gangyal Jammu. The function was attended by huge gathering of females and youngsters. SC Morcha Unit of Satwari Mandal also accompanied the program. District president Jammu BJP Baldev Singh Billawaria was the chief guest on the occasion and he paid tributes to Bhim Rao Ambedkar.
Keshav Chopra, vice president, BJP Talab Tillo Mandal, organised a programme on 127th birth anniversary of Dr Ambedkar as Samrasta Diwas at Booth level.  District president, West,  Ayodhya Gupta, State working committee member, Parneesh Mahajan, Prem Gupta etc were also present. Ayodhya Gupta said that Dr Ambedkar always campaigned against social discrimination and also supported the rights of women and labour class.
Meanwhile, an impressive function was held at PCC headquarters Jammu to celebrate the birth anniversary of Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar, father of Indian Constitution. President, PCC, GA Mir, chaired the function while senior leaders of the PCC, DCC, Mahila Congress, Youth Congress and other leaders of frontal organizations were among large number of congress leaders who attended the function.
Prominent among them included senior vice-president Sham Lal Sharma, CLP leader N Rigzin Jora, Raman Bhalla, former Minister MS Niaz, Ravinder Sharma, Rajnish Sharma, Shabir Ahmed Khan, Vikram Malhotra, Manmohan Singh, Gurbachan Kumari Rana, Indu Pawar, GL Chalotra, Prof Gharu Ram, KL Gupta, Nadeem Niaz, Sain Abdul Rasheed, Hira Lal Pandita, Th Jai Singh Dr RK Khajuria, Gourav Chopra, Satish Sharma.
Addressing the gathering PCC chief described Dr Ambedkar as the architect of Indian Constitution, which takes care of all sections of the society and is most respected document in the country by all countrymen. He said that the Congress leadership of the time had chosen Dr Ambedkar to head the constitution drafting committee, which shows the faith and respect enjoyed by Dr Ambedkar.
Sham Lal Sharma paid rich tributes to the great leader and described Ambedkar as the pillar of Indian democracy. It was most difficult task to construct the constitution of the country with great diversities. Today the constitution is respected by all and has withstood the test of time and people of all sections have faith in the constitution.
CLP Leader Rigzin Jora while paying tributes to the leader described him as a great statesman who was a unifying force by being head of the constitution drafting committee. Then leadership of the country especially Congress party had chosen him for the job in view of his capability and qualities which was a great honour and he did the best of the job for the generations to come.
Raman Bhalla also paid rich tributes to the great leader and described him as a ‘messiah’ of poor and down trodden. Bhalla said Ambedkar was a great statesman of his time whose contributions will always be remembered.
Congress workers along with Mohinder Kumar Bhardwaj and Ashok Dubey paid floral tributes to Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar on the occasion of his birth anniversary and his photograph was garlanded by the leaders and delegates of the congress party at Bishnah. Dr Ambedkar is a great inspiration who teaches us how to live for the people and how to dedicate a life for the upliftment of the underprivileged and he always committed to unity in society.
NCP State unit led by Thakur Randhir Singh also paid rich tributes to Dr Ambedkar and recalled his contributions.
J&K Reserved Category Employees Association Udhampur in collaboration with Guru Ravi Dass Sabha also celebrated Ambdekar Jayanti and paid tributes to the father of the Indian Constitution. A shobha yatra was also taken out in the town in this connection.
People’s Democratic Party (PDP) paid glowing tributes to Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar on his birth anniversary. In a function to commemorate the great contribution of Baba Saheb Ambedkar for upliftment and welfare of poor and downtrodden people in India the Party general secretary Ved Mahajan said Baba Saheb led millions of the oppressed to a life of self-respect, dignity and responsibility and has showed them a path which not only led to their development but also the development of India. On the occasion senior leaders including Falail Singh, RK Bali, Faqir Chand Baghat, Sunil Bhat, Ashok Jogi, Nanajee Wattal, Youth vice president Varinder Singh Sonu and many others were present.
Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd, Northern Region Transmission System–II, Jammu celebrated the birth anniversary of Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar across its establishments in Northern Region-II. Various programmes were organized. At its Regional Headquarters in Jammu, a free health checkup camp for the inmates of Balgran-Home for destitute children at Channi Rama was organised in association with Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Hospital. Sanjay Gupta, DGM (Finance), Powergrid was the chief guest, while Madhu Sharma, president Shrishti Mahila Samiti, Raman, Chief Manager(HR) and several officials of Powergrid along with their family members participated in the function. Badminton, cricket, volleyball and carom kits were also handed over to Balgran authorities. In other programme at Powergrid’s Samba Sub Station, Ambedkar Jayanti was celebrated with great enthusiasm. A plantation drive led by General Manager (Projects-II), SM Kandwal was organised in which all the employees participated.
To celebrate the birthday of Baba Saheb Dr BR Ambedkar, Jammu University SC/ST Employees Association organised a function. Association members offered floral tributes to Ambedkar by showering petals on his photo. The Association honoured Dr Jeet Raj Bazala, Retired Deputy Chief Education Officer, MR Bangotra, Retired Deputy Secretary, Krishan Lal  Atri and Retired Tehsildar Ayudhia Lal with Dr BR Ambedkar Awards.
Ambedkar Club paid homage to Baba Saheb Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar on his birth anniversary at Ambedkar Memorial School, Kabir Nagar, Talab Tillo, Jammu. The programme started with floral tributes and Bhim Vandana, followed by a documentary on the life of Dr Ambedkar and a video presentation on his life’s contribution for the society of modern India. Various speakers threw light on the life history and contribution of Dr Ambedkar. Among others present were Dr Mohan K Atri, Dr Rajesh Bhagat, Manmeet K Mottan, Ankush Hans, Dr Vijay Bangotra, etc.
All India Confederation of SC, ST and OBC Organizations, district Kathua unit celebrated 127th birth anniversary of Bharat Rattan Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar at Ambedkar Chowk Kathua. The function was started by chief patron B D Ladwal with Budh Bandana. He emphasized upon the masses to follow the path given by Dr B R Ambedkar. Shiv Kumar Pangotra, district president of the Organization, stressed to follow the teachings of Baba Sahib.
The SC, ST, OBC (Forum), tehsil Bishnah/Arnia today celebrated birth anniversary of Dalit Icon and Chief Architect of the Indian Constitution, Dr BR Ambedkar at Budh-Vihar Temple, Bishnah. A large number of people from SC, ST, OBC and other weaker section of the society besides general public participated in the function. FC Bhagat, president, All J&K Sadguru Kabir Sabha, was the chief guest on the occasion. Bhagat said this day teaches a lesson to the countrymen to understand the struggle of Dr BR Ambedkar and his contribution to build a great nation where every citizen feels proud that his rights and dignified life is protected.
UMEED Trust, a social organization of Ramban celebrated birth anniversary of Dr Ambedkar with great fervor, in community hall, Maitra (Ramban). General secretary of the Trust, Masood Iqbal Zargar, while highlighting his achievements, said that Ambedkar always stood by the poor and down trodden people and was a real social worker. He termed Dr Ambedkar as the real architect of the Indian Constitution. All members of trust were present in function.
In order to commemorate 127th birthday celebrations of Bharat Rattan Dr BR Ambedkar, Jammu Kashmir Reserved Categories Empowerment Alliance (JKRCEA), district unit Kathua along with socio-religious wings and unemployed youth organized a bike rally that started from Kalibari and after passing through bazaar, it culminated at GRD Gurudwara, Kathua. Speakers including Dr CR Munday, PK Chouhan, Dr Haridyal, Loknath and Bansi Lal threw light on life and mission of Babasaheb.
To celebrate birth anniversary of Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar, Ladakh Buddhist Association (LBA) Youth Wing organized a peace rally from LBA office to Polo Ground. Hundreds of school children and general masses took part in the rally to pay rich tribute to the architect of Indian Constitution.  Palga Rinpoche was the chief guest on the occasion, while Executive Councillor Gyal P Wangyal, LAHDC Councillors, Ladakh Gonpa Association General Secretary Jamyang Tharchin, Ladakh Buddhist Association Vice President Rinchen Namgyal, Ladakh Buddhist Association Women Wing Rinchen Angmo, Ex-MLC Norboo Gailson, Tibetan Chief Representative Officer Tsetan Wangchuk, LBA Youth Wing President Konchok Stak, LBA Youth General Secretary Tsewang Norboo, political party leaders and many others were also present. Students from different schools presented colourful cultural programme and skits to highlight the life history of Ambedkar. On the occasion, a essay writing competition in Bhoti language was also organized and the winners will be felicitated during Buddha Jayanti celebrations.
All J&K Ambedkar Dalit Samaj Welfare Forum celebrated birth anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar, wherein a large number of people from Dalit Samaj garlanded the portrait of Dr Ambedkar. Dalit leaders namely Ashok Jogi, Ramesh Angurana, Dev Anand Gill, Dev Raj Angral, Vijay magotra and VK Loach threw light on the life and teachings of Dr Ambedkar.
Ambedkar Sena, J&K, celebrated birth anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar at Ambedkar Chowk Jammu. A large number of workers/followers gathered at the venue, which was decorated with blue flags, colorful hoarding and portrait of Dr Ambedkar along with other personalities of Bahujan Samaj who sacrificed their life for the betterment of neglected lot of society. Tarsem Khullar, State president, Ambedkar Sena, J&K, was the chief guest. The function was started with reciting of Bhim Vandana by teenage children. Renowned Punjabi singer, Balwinder Bittu and his party enthralled the audience with his missionary songs.
To celebrate the birthday of Baba Saheb Dr Bhim Rao Ram Ji Ambedkar, the Rashtriya Sewak Sang (RSS) Sainik Colony Shakha organized an impressive function at Sri Ram Mandir in Sainik Colony, which was headed by Prant Sang Sanchalak Brigedier (retd) Suchet Singh and attended by a large number of people of the civil society. IDAS Officer (retd) GR Kaith, was the chief guest of function. All dignitaries present in the function offered floral tributes to Baba Saheb. The chief guest, in his address, termed the division among classes as a root cause of weakening of any society.
All India Sikh Students Federation also paid tributes to Dr B R Ambedkar on his birth anniversary today.
