JAMMU, Feb 22: All India Migrant Camp Coordination Committee (AIMCCC) in an appeal to Governor, Satya Pal Malik has asked him to extend the Winter vacations for the PM package employees in view of Mahashivratri festival falling on March 4 up top March 5.
In a statement issued here, today Desh Rattan, president, AIMCCC said that Mahashivratri is an auspicious festival of Kashmiri Pandits so the migrant teachers posted in Valley are unable to celebrate the festival in case they are not allowed to avail the holidays up to March 5, the day up to which the Winter vacations were extended for students of Valley.
He said when Government has already extended Winter vacations up to March 5 there is no fun of asking migrant teachers to join the duty by February 25. Rattan sought immediate intervention of Governor in the matter.
