Srinagar, Mar 25 : In a case of medical negligence, doctors allegedly left a blood vessel of a pregnant lady unstitched at MCH Sopore in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district during a surgery, resulting in heavy loss of blood, causing damage to her both kidneys and leaving in midst of great danger.
The victim lady’s family said the doctors at MCH Sopore conducted a surgery of the lady who was pregnant. The family alleged that the ‘negligent’ medicos while operating upon the patient left her one blood vessel open that resulted in heavy loss of blood.
“A lady doctor who conducted the surgery of my sister a few days ago at MCH Sopore had left her vain open which has resulted in the huge blood loss to the patient,” said Firdous Ahmad, her brother. The lady is currently hospitalized at SMHS Srinagar. He further alleged that medicos at MCH Sopore asked them to shift the patient to Srinagar’s LD Hospital due to the non-availability of blood there after conducting the surgery.
“We went to LD Hospital where authorities informed us that the patient is almost dead. My sister was put on ventilator for four days at LD Hospital but unfortunately, the doctors there informed us that both the Kidneys of the patient are almost fully damaged due to the loss of the blood,” he said.
Firdous said after providing almost eight points of blood to the patient, the doctors at LD asked them to shift the patient to SMHS for her kidney treatment. “The patient is currently in Ward no 06 on Bed no 12 where she is currently undergoing treatment. The doctors here also informed us that both the kidneys of the patient are almost fully damaged,” he said and sought action against the accused doctors of MCH Sopore.
