Akhnoor, Satwari zones win U-19 girls kho-kho, kabaddi finals

JAMMU, Aug 28: Scripting convincing wins over their rivals in the semifinals, Akhnoor zone and Satwari zone claimed kho-kho and kabadi titles in the Zonal-Level Inter-School competitions in the sports disciplines of Under-19 girls kabaddi and kho-kho competitions, which concluded at Government Higher Secondary School, here today.
Earlier, the Deputy Director Youth Services and Sports, Kanchan Bala and Ajit Raj Sharma, Principal HSS Domana were the guests of honour during the valedictory function.
The competitions were organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports as a part of Annual Calendar of Activities, under the patronage of Navin Agarwal, Director General Youth Services and Sports and under the supervision of Ved Parkash, Deputy Director, Jammu and Sukhdev Raj DYSSO Jammu.
Earlier, in kho-kho Under-19 girls final, Akhnoor beat Khour by 11-2, while in semifinals, Khour beat Bhalwal by 8-6 and Akhnoor defeated R S Pura by an inning and 11 points.
In kabaddi title clash, Satwari beat Akhnoor by 34-30, while in semifinal, Akhnoor defeated Jammu by 58-21 and in semifinal Satwari beat RS Pura by 35-4.
