Akbar Lone flays PDP, BJP; says both fooling people

JAMMU, Feb 19: Former Minister and Legislative Assembly Speaker Mohammad Akbar Lone today charged the PDP and BJP with “enacting drama” to delay formation of the Government only to “befool” the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Mr Lone, who has been elected MLA for third consecutive term on National Conference mandate, said the PDP and BJP were in agreement to form the Government, which was evident from the fact that they were contesting the Legislative Council elections in alliance with each other after Rajya Sabha elections, which both the parties had contested together.
“Both the parties were addressing their respective constituencies. They were in agreement with each other but were just befooling the people by delaying formation of the Government,” Mr Lone, who was Speaker and Higher Education Minister in the previous Omar Abdullah regime, said.
He added that if both the parties can contest the Rajya Sabha and Legislative Council elections jointly why can’t they form the Government?
“It was only to hoodwink the people, which was trademark of the PDP and its leadership. They have won 28 seats by fooling the people,” Lone said and called upon the people to understand designs of PDP and BJP, which were trying to gain power through an “unholy alliance”.
Describing PDP and BJP as two faces of same coin, Mr Lone said the people have understood the real game plan of the two parties.
