AJKPA holds protest dharna

JAMMU, June 5: To project its long pending demands, All Jammu and Kashmir Patwar Association (AJKPA) held a protest dharna at Deputy Commissioner office, here today.
The protesters said that the Government is giving deaf ears to the demands of the Association.
The demands projected by the Association included Grade Pay of Graduate Patwaries, timely DPC of Patwaries and Girdawars, creation of GQ Circles and Patwar Halqas, ban of direct recruitment of Naib Tehsildars, enhancement of allowances for Patwaries and Girdawars, rent for Patwar Khanas (Private accommodation) and construction of Patwar Khanas.
The protesters said that the state body has decided to continue pen down strike till their demands are redressed, adding that the Government will be responsible for causing inconvenience to the general public.
Those who spoke on the occasion included Mushtaq Ahmed Ganai, Farooq Ahmed Malik, Kaleem Ahmed, Rajan Kumar, Shabir Ahmed, Sadeeq Ahmed and Jagdish Raj (All office bearers of the Association).
