AJKKU delegation meets Div Com, submits memorandum

JAMMU, Jan 9: A delegation of All Jammu and Kashmir Kissan Union (AJKKU) led by its Chairman Ashok Sharma called on Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Dr Mandeep Bhandari and submitted a memorandum projecting various demands of the Union.
Sharma said that the recently advertised posts of teachers’ portrait a picture of regional imbalance and irrationality, adding that out of the total advertised posts, Jammu region got a share of 15 percent only.
AJKKU demanded issuance of fresh gun licenses after due verification to all those who were deceived by grant of fake licenses to rural youth.
The Union discussed the loss of crop due to alarming increase of monkey menace in the rural areas adjoining to vacant, forest lands which need serious attention of the government.
The delegation also demanded holding of direct election of Sarpanches to stop horse trading on the constitution of Panchayats.
The other issues discussed included timely supply of seeds and fertilizers, supply of uninterrupted power and drinking water supply, Kissan Credit Cards and Land Pass Books, free crop and cattle insurance and implementation of J&K and Punjab MoU regarding compensation of canal construction in Kandi and Shivali belt by Punjab to utilize Ranjeet Sagar Dam water.
The seven member delegation included Ashok Sharma, Captain LK Sharma, Vinod Sharma, BL Verma, HS Balouria, BC Raina and Nitan Kumar.
