JAMMU, Feb 1:  Convener of All Jammu Civil Society Forum, Gulchain Singh Charak,  Co-Convener  Abdul Majid & other members of AJCSF, took strong exception to what they  called “mockery of political jugglery” being displayed by politicians of various hues for their petty political gains.
Quoting the Chief Minister’s statement branding all those proceeding legally to abrogate Article 370 as “anti-nationals”, they questioned ,what about those who are diluting it by facilitating the settling of foreign nationals in the State and issuing them voter/ ration cards?  What about those who are killing the very spirit of Article 370 by not permitting safe dwellings for KPs in Kashmir Valley or for ex-servicemen of the state to settle wherever they like to in organized colonies within the state. Those diluting the spirit of this article are anti-J&K,  anti-national and averse to peace and prosperity by raking up such non-issues and obstructing developmental projects, the AJCSF members said.
Mr Charak (convenor) while addressing said that time has come to call off the bluffs of plebiscite and exhorted all political parties to come clean of their stand on plebiscite by declaring their opinion, if they want to join with Pakistan or stay in India as Indian nationals. The UN Resolution contains no third offer. Seven decades is a long period added Charak, let’s decide once for all and not pass on this as a bad legacy to posterity.
He said Jammu is a region that has been a host with open arms to PoJK population, to KP’s, Muslims and Sikhs and Budhists from all the regions of J&K State. Students from all these places have flooded our educational institutions, colleges and universities in Jammu. They are all taken care of happily. The way some inimical forces have tried to wickedly exploit one single isolated case of a Ladakhi student and made a mountain of a mole hill against a senior doctor Bhupesh Khajuria is an example how efforts are being deliberated to politicize and create inter-regional rifts as it is a legal matter which is under investigation.
“Jammu will not allow such treachery to break our traditional cohesive brotherhood and traditional mutual faith, love and respect for mutual sensitivities,” he added.
The Forum requested all politicians and public figures to be more considerate, matured and grow out from the politics of “opportunism to divide and rule”.
Senior members  GA Khawaja, Maj Gen GS Jamwal, Brig MS Jamwal,  Gambhir Dev Singh Charak,  Neeraj Anand, Dr (Col) VK Sahi,  Amanat Ali Shah, Yash Paul Gupta,  Neeraj Anand and Inderjeet Khajuria were also present.
