JAMMU, Aug 5: All India Backward Classes Union (AIBCU) Social has demanded that all the members of the National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC) including its chairman and vice chairman should be from the OBC categories.
In a statement issued here today, the Union opposed the suggestion by certain political leaders of inducting members from Minority Community and women as its members termed it a treacherous move of some political parties as this way they wanted to weaken the Commission and depriving the Constitutional rights to OBCs in the country.
The meeting also accused the State coalition of working against the interests of OBCs and urged it to mend its ways.
The Union which held a meeting here today to discuss the issue deliberated threadbare the role of both opposition Congress and ruling alliance led by BJP over the issue.
The meeting among others was attended by Joginder Singh, M R Bangotra, Prof Kali Dass, Sandokh Chand etc.
