AIBCU discusses various problems

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, June 29: All India Backward  Classes Union (AIBCU) in its meeting here today held under the chairmanship of its president, Abdul Majid Malik discussed the various issues confronting the OBCs in the State especially the failure of the Government to implement the Mandal Commission recommendations and grant of 27 percent reservations to the OBCs.
The meeting demanded that a member from OBCs be appointed as chairman of the OBC Commission as not a non OBC member. The meeting said that Social Welfare  and Forest Minister was apprised of the problems of State OBCs which included 27 percent reservations, enhancement of creamy layer from 4.5 lakh to six lakh which has already been increased by Union Government about three years back and renewal of OBC certificate on the basis of income certificate. Moreover an appeal was made to appoint a chairman of the Backward Classes Commission belonging to OBC category. But instead of solving the problem of the OBCs, he has deliberately proposed the name of person belonging to Upper Caste having nothing to do with the State OBCs. But the Social Welfare Minister has miserably failed to enhance the creamy layer.
The meeting asked the Government to rethink over the decision.
